Pretty much the question. Bought a couple of weeks ago, ate one part, and and kept in the coldest part for my fridge until now. The label says “best before Mar 2024”. When I bought it was not that blue/greenish.
I’d give it a go. If it’s not safe, congrats on your free colon cleanse!

There appears to be mold on it.

If we have any mods left anywhere in this sub, can we PLEASE get rid of the “is my cheese good?” type posts? They get so fucking old.

Absolutely NOT.

Cut away the sides; try a damp cloth for the rind. If you smell no ammonia then you can probably give it a try. But only if desperate

If it smells of ammonia then it’s probably getting a bit too far gone, but the rind is in all likelihood fine to eat on this style of cheese, same can be said for the mould on the cut face.
Stilton like cheeses with a dry rind it’s not the best to eat the rind.
Softer blues like Blacksticks or Shropshire Blue the rind helps contribute to the flavour.
Sorry I don’t know any blue equivalents for these outside for the Uk.

…why are you risking fucking up your guts for a piece of cheese that you didn’t feel like eating for weeks?
If it is salvagable, neat I guess, but your health (and time spent not shitting your soul out/not having horrid stomach issues) is worth far more than old cheese.
Health matters. Learn from my mistake.

Am I the only one who thinks it looks delicious?

For me it looks fine, as it’s a blue cheese, as mold is part of the cheese. I would just scratch the surface. People seem overly dramatic.
