The concept of dessert cheese in the UK is something that I find fascinating, I’ve never seen these combinations before (I tried a sticky toffee alternative that was interesting to say the least), and I was wondering if anyone had tried this specific cheese, could review it and if anyone had any history on these sweet cheeses.

Nobody is actually buying them because they enjoy them.

Its gimmick stuff at Christmas. People buy it, it gets tried, they go “hmm that’s weird why would anyone enjoy that?” Then you bin it thinking “eh whatever its Christmas”.

Id like to meet anybody who buys these dessert cheeses and can tell me with a straight face its better than other, normal cheeses. Because I could use a laugh right now

I can feel the entirety of Nerth Yerkshir getting up and ready to bludgeon someone for this

  3. I had sticky toffee pudding cheese last year, I only got it because I worked for Tesco and it was at the reduced price where it’s free for staff.

It was horrible, I was angry, and I didn’t even pay for it.

  4. I tried it last night actually! Bought the smallest block for a quid as I was in charge of the cheeseboard and thought this would be disgusting but good for a laugh. There’s absolutely no coffee in it. As ‘cheese’ it’s gross but it actually just tastes like a slightly sour choc cheesecake filling.

Wensleydale with cranberries was bad enough, not going anywhere near this abomination!

  6. It’s a xmas novelty cheese. I haven’t tried it. I like the Wensleydale with ginger pieces. In Yorkshire the way to eat Wensleydale is with a piece of sweet heavy fruit cake, i.e. Christmas cake, so yes it’s paired with sweet, heavy flavours.

  7. Yes. It was a bit grim (cheap instant coffee taste) but the Millionaire Shortbread Wensleydale was fucking awesome.
