I just opened this package of Red Hawk. I like funky cheese, but it really smells awful… Honestly, it might smell like vomit. The brown spots look, well, not great. Same with the raised white splotches. Can someone confirm I’m not a coward before I return it?

Personally, I think it’s fine. It *is* a washed rind cheese, it stinks to high heaven and the rind is not for everyone – but the paste is delightful. Creamy, smooth, buttery.
If it smells like ammonia, it’s turned.
