Worked North of Montreal last year in February and randomly found this brined, super-firm cheese at a gas station. I’ve been craving it ever since and had no luck finding it in the US. The closest thing was Armenian Chechil cheese with Caraway seeds. I believe it’s called Tortillion, but I could be wrong.
Today I was able to return to the same gas station and pick up 8 of these. I’m sure they will stay good for as long as I let them stay unconsumed, which won’t be very long.
Salty cheese is my love language.
