Hi,

I’m new to fancy cheeses. I usually eat brie and thought I would try camembert. I opened it up and the smell is very pungent, which I’ve read is good, but it also has these weird wet brown spots on it. Can someone tell me if it’s supposed to look like this? Tysm

It might be a little riper than prime but not bad by any stretch. Give it a taste and see whether you like it or not

Looks fine to me. Generally, when stored in a refrigerator, soft rind cheeses will dry out before they go bad.
