I was recently near the WSU Vancouver campus and dropped by their bookstore to buy my first can. I understand the cult: you have something quirky and unique, that supports food science students, and that is genuinely tasty. It’s a salty, creamy, sharp, white Irish-style cheddar, speckled with calcium lactate crystals that are like dairy pop rocks. I’m curious to pick up one of their other flavors next time I’m in the area.

My grandma used to give these to my family when I was a kid as a Christmas present. I had no idea what it was and it often would go moldy before we could eat it. As an adult, I wish she would bring back the tradition! Love me some cougar gold.
