Holy trinity and red beans blended into a paste. Came out too runny to form into balls and fry, so I tried making a waffle with it. The mix was delicious and I couldn't stop eating it. It was not good as a waffle though. It didn't form a crispy crunchy shell like a falafel and instead made a floppy…nutrient square.

I wonder if adding some cooked rice or other grain would help give it structure and a bit of a crispy layer? Either way this looks delicious!

As an Egyptian, this is heresy 😂 No herbs? Also, red beans?? This is like someone baking a flour tortilla and cottage cheese and calling it pizza! We don’t put vegetables in falafel, other than garlic. They add too much moisture, which is probably why you couldn’t form balls and fry them.
The Wafalafel is more fun to say imo.
