Seen versions of this a few times in the Great British Baking Show, and it's always made me want to try it out myself. I'm very happy without it came out.

  2. Sponge cake.

    3/4 cup (95g) cake flour

    1/4 cup (21g) unsweetened natural cocoa powder.

    1 teaspoon baking powder.

    1/2 teaspoon salt

    4 large eggs, at room temperature and separated.

    3/4 cup (150g) granulated sugar.

    1/4 cup (60ml) vegetable oil.

    1/4 cup (60ml) buttermilk or whole milk.

    1 and 1/2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract.

    1 teaspoon espresso powder.

    Vanilla Whipped Cream

    1 cup (240ml) heavy whipping cream.

    3 Tablespoons (38g) confectioners’ sugar.

    1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract.

    Chocolate Ganache.

    3 oz semi-sweet chocolate , chopped.

    ⅓ cup heavy cream.

    1 tablespoon butter
