I’m using stock images but I am always on the lookout for new cheeses to try whenever I go to the store. Credit to various cheese websites, resources, and sellers for the cheese images and cheese facts. If any of you know some cheeses that I haven’t done yet I would love some input!

Here is your daily cheese facts: This cheese is made by Bedford Cheese company. 8 Blumen Blossom Alpine 200g is made up of 8 different edible flowers added during the maturation process. You can smell and taste the flowers all the way through this beautiful nutty but creamy cheese.

Also as a note: I post my daily cheese here as well as in my r/dailycheese subreddit.

  2. The Original 8 Blumen (“Blumen” means “flowers” in german, switzerland german and austrian) comes from Switzerland. The base cheese is a Appenzell. The creator is a dude called Kevin Koch.

    Here it’s description: ”

“8 Blumen – The mindful one. Swiss pressed cheese made from raw cow’s milk from the Appenzell region. Min. 70 days maturation. This extraordinary cheese is covered in a bespoke coat made from a blend of 8 flowers. Thus, it charms both the eye and the palate. These 8 flowers beautifully decorate it and bestow upon it a very special character. The fragrance penetrates deeply into the cheese, creating a complete and unique symphony of aromas. The flowery rind is also edible. This cheese belongs to the ‘Haute-Couleur’ collection which certainly lies very close to Haute Couture. It is inspired by the world of colours and their effect on us all. Nature provides us with an unparalleled source of inspiration through its perfectionism, diversity, and endless combinations. The products impress with their visual appeal and unique interplay of aromas. They offer familiar colours and taste combinations that perfectly unite contrasts, providing an unprecedented taste experience. The Koch cheese dairy is a typical family business from the Appenzell region that has been specialising in cheese for over 50 years. The current successor, Kevin Koch, Swiss cosmopolitan & innovative cheese designer, is revolutionising the cheese-making industry with his original creations and new ideas. When a wheel of cheese bears his ‘label’, it is proof of excellent quality. Handmade Swiss premium products, which he creates from the combination of tradition and modernity and which he then offers as ‘Tailor-Made Cheese’. The photo is not contractual and the product is delivered without the label.”

  3. I’d call that “cake-cheese with sprinkles” and everytime someone would try to correct me I’d hold my ears shut and yell “lalala I can’t hear you”

A local cheese shop brought this in around Easter! I got a good sized wedge for my appetizer board, and it was lovely. Hard cheese with a creamy texture, nutty/earthy/slightly fruity flavor. They also had this cheese’s counterpart – Shadow Blossom. (Sorry I can’t remember the proper name) it was the same cheese but coated in thick pepper. Had a more savory flavor. All this to say – if you ever come upon either, do give them a try! They are as delicious as they are beautiful!
