5 year aged gouda. But I crushed it in about 5 minutes.

  1. I love that Gouda although not sure if I have had the 5 year (maybe 3 year). So good with the crunchy crystals in it

Edit: the crunch is from calcium lactate or tyrosine crystals, not sure why the poster below mentioned MSG (I think they are mixing up glutamate and MSG), but MSG is as bad for you as table salt and does not cause headaches or anything like that. It was a racist myth, I keep MSG in my home kitchen. https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/027869159390012N?via%3Dihub

  2. Those who gnaw on cheese… I salute you 🫡🫡. One day I will go feral as well.

  3. Can’t decide if that cheese is too good to eat like that or too good to eat any other way.

  4. The only way to eat cheese. Gnaw at it like a primal beast 🤣 (admittedly I do the same)

That’s called *brokkelkaas,* when it’s old enough (more than three years, definitely five) to crumble that way. Crumby cheese or crumbly cheese, I suppose is the translation.

I never understood the expiry date labels on cheese. This 5-year-old cheese is a good example of what i mean.
