Idk if it’s the plate or the picture, but it makes it look like a ladel of slop with asparagus. I would try this on a white plate

Looks very nice. I know this sounds crazy, but I actually thought there was skate wing on the plate instead of that piece of salmon skin.

It looks really delicious and inviting, but I think it does need a little cleaning up and refining, plating things with a bit more intention. Like asparagus could be laid flat and have it centered on the plate along with the sauce before putting the rest of it on. Just minor things.

you need to let the oil almost smoke for the sear
