I’m using stock images but I am always on the lookout for new cheeses to try whenever I go to the store. Credit to “Taste Atlas” for the cheese image and cheese facts. If any of you know some cheeses that I haven’t done yet I would love some input!

Here is your daily cheese facts: A French classic with a New York twist, Murray’s St. Mark’s is a complex, unctuous cheese that’s kept secure in its own miniature red terracotta crock. Simply dive in with a spoon or cracker, or treat it as a personal fondue pot, and top with walnuts, rosemary, or fig jam before popping it into the oven and serving with crusty bread. This silky, spoonable, strong cheese also pairs perfectly with some Raincoast Crisps and Murray’s Spiced Cherry Preserves.

Also as a note: I post my daily cheese here as well as in my r/dailycheese subreddit.

I LOVE St. Mark’s. It’s a Murray’s take on St. Marcellin cheese. There’s a really cool legend about this cheese: supposedly Prince Louis XI was out with a hunting party and came across a bear. The cries of the hunting party were heard by two local loggers, who helped rescue the group from this bear. After everyone was safe, Louis decided to share a meal with the loggers, and they introduced Louis to St. Marcellin’s cheese. Louis liked the cheese so much that he brought it back to the palace and ate it at the royal table. Pretty neat!
