This isn’t even accurate, American cheese are often highly spoken of in the same breathe as non-US cheeses.
Like even Velveeta and Kraft singles are well appreciated here for their unique properties, despite being fringe on being actual cheeses.

Cheese standards are different in the US and Europe. There are cheese that are incredibly popular made in Europe that are illegal in the United States. There are no popular cheeses that are illegal in Europe that are made in the US. The FDA favors big farms, which make cheese production limited. There are, however, some great cheese producers in the US.

Pretty sure the Italian gotta-wear-safety-goggles-to-keep-the-maggots-from-jumping-into-your-eyes cheese is the one on the right. I’m not sorry about saying I’d strongly prefer a nice Amish Baby Swiss to anything with that kind of bad funky-funk.

Many of the best cheeses in the world are made in the USA.
Also we have all the great cheeses in the US, we just also have American cheese which people love to hate on. It’s elite for what it’s used for. It’s literally just cheese reconstituted with emulsifying salts that make it more melty.

Who will win! Cheese is cheese. Both are great.
Try slapping a different cheese on a burger other than American.

There are no bad cheeses, just bad applications.
(Ok, there are some bad cheeses. But cheese isn’t bad just because it’s American. There are world winning cheeses from America.)

Only European cheeses I eat somewhat regularly are Parmigiano and Mozzarella. Turkish cheese good enough to not need any other.

Bruh, REAL American Cheese that you get from a deli or the gourmet cheese section is fucking excellent. That Kraft singles shit is the cheapest stuff you can buy.

Burgers with other cheese are inferior to burgers with American cheese.

Walk straight ahead, over the sign post, into the grass, and beyond, until you finally reach UTOPIA.
Grilled cheese sandwiches and cheeseburgers MUST HAVE American cheese. I MUST HAVE Parmesan in just about everything. And, when I’m feeling particularly carefree and spendy, I’ll nibble on a chunk of aged Gouda or cheddar.
Oh, and don’t forget American government-cheese! The stuff they put on the bagelwiches back in school. Delicious!
