Haven’t posted a cheese review in… Years 😅
I know truffles can be divisive, but I fucking love them. I’ve even gone truffle hunting. So when I saw this truffle burrata at Murray’s, I had to get some. It’s not overly fragranced, but I’ve found that to be the case with real, actual truffle bits rather than truffle oil. The cheese isn’t super packed with minced truffle (which I’m sure would jack up the price), so it’s a nice and light addition to the usual burrata flavor. Is it my favorite truffle cheese? No (boschetto al tartufo is my winner). That being said, I am enjoying the hell out of this.
Usually retails at Murray’s for $14 USD per 8 oz (two 4 oz balls). I used a 20% off coupon code and paid $11.20. Apparently BelGioioso makes a truffle burrata that retails for $12.69 per 8 oz near me, so I think I got a good deal.
Would I buy this again? Eh. Maybe if I was hosting a party or something. Otherwise there’s too many other cheeses I want to try. It’s good but not life-changing.
