Hey there, cheese lovers!
I’m sorry if that’s something obvious but I really am curious about this and I cannot seem to find anything online. My family recently bought some Roquefort in a supermarket and we just finished it, with the surprise of this “little tube” under it (right where the picture shows it).
It’s kind of spongy but it doesn’t seem to be edible or “cheesy” in any way. It’s spongy and when squeezed releases a bit of liquid, which I suppose is some fat from the Roquefort itself.
Could you please tell me what it is? Thanks in advance!
