I’m using stock images but I am always on the lookout for new cheeses to try whenever I go to the store. Credit to various cheese websites, resources, and sellers for the cheese images and cheese facts. If any of you know some cheeses that I haven’t done yet I would love some input!

Here is your daily cheese facts: Kentucky Moon is a standout. The first thing people notice is the unique sweetness, balanced by some traditional alpine notes of milky hazelnut and a good amount of acidity. A classic choice for fondue, especially when combined with another of our alpine selections, Norwood (link in name). A point of departure for comparison could be Jarlsberg, but Kentucky Moon has more of a rugged texture, often carrying a desired crystalized crunch. The holes, or “eyes” are a result of a controlled amount of CO2 gas production that adds to the springiness of texture.

Also as a note: I post my daily cheese here as well as in my r/dailycheese subreddit.

  2. What is it about moon cheeses that makes them so good? I know it’s mostly coincidence, but people put Moon in the names of some of the best cheeses.
