I shop at ShopRite so I’m honestly so happy to see this. I will be keeping an eye out for this!

  2. I grabbed this kinda thing from king soopers all the time. Makes for great Mac n cheese or soups or sauces

Yes, my local store sells what they call Cheese Snacking Chunks. It’s usually American , Provolone and Muenster, sometimes Swiss too. It’s really a great little midday or late night snack.

  4. My buddy’s mom used to buy these and make mac and cheese when we were younger. Good stuff.

  5. My new side quest is to find these in my area. Any suggestions for central NC, let me know!!

We used to sell cheese ends at a store I worked at until the law started requiring ingredient labels. We then had to sell them at full retail. We weren’t allowed to discount the prices.

I used to work in a deli department of a grocery store as an assistant manager, and I proposed doing this for our more well selling cheeses that we go through pretty quick. (My departments manager was terrible btw) I was told “Thats a waste of money, nobody is gonna buy them.”

Like huh???? We literally just threw away the ends, a few dollars profit is infinite profit over waste. I didn’t understand her at all.

The fancy cheeses from the nicer grocery stores also usually come in ends, great for cheese boards.

  9. Zabar’s used to do this…it was amazing. Maybe they still do…literally the ends of all the amazing cheeses in one bag…

My grocery store does whenever they have time to do it. They do it for meats as well, which is how I get half of my lunchmeat from now on. You get a nice variety and it’s so much cheaper!

Most don’t for stupid reasons (stupid people). One I used to work at had to stop permenantly because one lady got sick and they made a huge case out of it. From that point forward they wanted to avoid any possible lawsuits, tossing thousands in leftover product in the compactor each day.

This looks like such a fun snack since the flavor/type will be a surprise! Count me in!
