i went to a seafood restaurant and tried these called Gator Bites. they were deep fried white alligator meat. i actually liked it. kind of like chicken with a little catfish flavor, and a tiny chewy texture like lobster.

It’s not terrible, but definitely only able to eat a couple pieces in a year or more . I don’t really care for seafood so that may be why. It’s like a … not good chicken

  2. I feel like my satisfaction of alligator bites is always tied to how good the dipping sauce is.

  3. I’ve since moved upstate now but the Florida girl in me misses alligator bites so much.

  4. I always enjoy some good gator bites. I feel like most people aren’t fans of the texture, but I love the chewiness, reminds me slightly of fried calamari.

  5. Deep fried really doesn’t do it justice. My experience is Gator and Croc are better cooked like a whitefish, sauté in butter, herbs.

  6. I wasn’t impressed the few times I’ve eaten alligator. If I could have it in any other form besides small chunks, fried in oil used for several orders of chicken tenders and fish, I may have liked it.
