    Another multilingual cheese pun:

    In Dutch there’s a saying ‘Helaas pindakaas’. It’s just a nonsensical rhyming extension of an expression. ‘Helaas’ can be translated as ‘Too bad’ or ‘Regrettably’. Pindakaas means ‘Peanut butter’, but literally ‘Peanut-cheese’.

    As a joke we sometimes try to translate this into another language to confuse other language speakers. The best translation is into French: ‘Dommage fromage’. Or to really confuse some non-Dutch speakers: ‘Dommage cacahuète fromage’.
    I heard that Germans say ‘Schade marmelade’, but that’s not cheese-related.
