Sorry if this isn't the place to ask, but I'm trying to make lactose free homemade Cheez-Its and was wondering if either of these might match the flavor? (Or possibly mixing both?) I just don't want to go through all of the work if someone here knows it'll turn out odd. Of course I'm just going to try if no one knows.

I never eat cheese because I’m lactose intolerant. I’m just recently learning about lactose-free cheese and would like to try snack recipes like Cheez-Its and Goldfish. Of course I have no idea what these cheeses even taste like though 😅😭
Both of those are good cheeses. If you can find it, Seriously Sharp is my favorite Cabot cheese
I’ve been dying to make them in Swiss because those are my favorite cheezeit flavor, let us know how the process turns out!
These are my fav store bought cheeses. And they are cheap. Ugh.
Cabot is delicious cheese!
Just so you know, sourdough starter discard adds a remarkably cheesy flavor to baked goods without the need for any actual cheese.
Recipe for cheese crackers I use:
3/4 cup shredded cheddar
1/2 cup ap flour
1tsp cornstarch
1/8tsp salt
3tbs butter diced into small cubes
1tbs water
Throw everything in a food processor until wet sand like
Knead into a dough ball and refrigerate for 20 minutes. roll out into a thin sheet and then cut into crackers or shapes, place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake in preheated oven at 350f for 14-16 minutes
Enjoy
The Americas test kitchen cheese cracker recipe is a great one, but my sub is expired. 🤣 here’s someone else giving us the low down.
