Looks mouth watering. I used to make General Tso’s at home. Or at least tried to😭. Recipe?

I appreciate all the positive feedback but I hope beyond the recipe, people’s takeaway is to experiment a bit with recipes to recreate your favorites as a smaller portioned or lower calorie meal. 1500 calories is so much more manageable when you’re excited about the food you’re eating.

All of my ingredients and quantities are listed but some simple steps: The obvious part is that it isn’t fried. I prefer to broil chicken this sized. 7 minutes on both sides. I’ll make no true suggestion of a marinade because I’m not sure what’s best here. I used rice wine vinegar and a bit of salt for maybe 4 hours. Disregard the cornstarch and all purpose flour listed in my ingredients. Save yourself the 47 calories per meal

For the sauce, combine all the ingredients I listed, except cornstarch, in a pot and bring to a simmer. Once there, add the cornstarch to water and mix as well as you can. Then add that slurry to the sauce. Keep it on the heat a bit longer to reduce some of the water out you just added. Once cooled it’ll have a nice and thick consistency but should still spread over chicken and rice well. This sauce is solid, if you have suggestions for modifications I’m all ears but try it as is first. (Not my recipe found online)
