  1. It looks good visually, but microgreens do not sound the least bit appetizing alongside maple syrup

No. Chicken and waffles shouldn’t be something like this. It’s all about simple and good. But I applaud the style still.

  3. I swear to god, if I ever got served a 16$ plate of chicken and waffles and they send this. I’m rioting

Is this warm when served? Sometimes I look at these dishes with ingredients spread across the plate and just think it’s going to be served room temp at best. This looks cute for a passed app but not much going on for a plate.

I think if you’re going to serve it like this you’re going to have to elevate both elements considerably

I actually really like this idea. Just keep the price *very* reasonable and/or do this as passed hors d’oeuvres or a “gift from the kitchen” sort of thing. And, as someone else said, make sure it’s warm or hot!

I’m diggin the waffle cubes! I had to look for the chicken, but that would be banging if it stood out with a darker colored lacquer over it. Now the waffle and chicken is the same color! Spacing is great. Cute and pretentious seconded!

Someone needs to show this to my friend up north, u/WildSoapbox. If it was on a spoon, he’d dig it.

  9. Disregarding the sizing, I would want more color on my waffle. Those waffles look anemic

  10. If this is a canapé I adore it. However I am conscientious that the sauce in the waffle could spill if you were to pick it up.
