
The brand I grew up eating was Mohawk Valley. Apparently Kraft bought it and then discontinued it. I think it was primarily a northeastern U.S. thing.
I grew up eating limburger on saltines. I’ve spent a couple of decades trying to recreate that flavor and recently discovered that taleggio comes very close (after eating a soup with taleggio in it).
I just made Mac and cheese for the week using taleggio and I’m extremely excited for lunch tomorrow. Just wanted to put that out there in case any one else grew up eating that coveted, yet discontinued, limburger spread.
