My partner and I drove about an hour to go to this restaurant for lunch.

I ate a bunch of grilled marinated beef and mushrooms, kimchi, pickled radish, wrapped in lettuce, ETC. Discovered how good GRILLED pineapple is for dessert.

I out ate even him at my table. Im female and 5’3”. I pretty much ate until I felt satiated. I didn’t think of calories at all. I just knew that I needed to eat and refuel. All that turned into my one big meal yesterday. Fullness level about an 8-9.

I thought I ate about 3-4K calories. Came home and tracked: I ate about 160g protein in one meal.

Drank tons of water and a vitamin c packet last night.

* Weird: Woke up this morning: my stomach was flatter than it’s been in so long. Somehow more taunt. It reduced any belly bloating. Idk why?

* Why did I do this? I lift weights 3x/week and walk daily. I started feeling fatigued on my walks. I was getting shin splints, joint aches, and dragging a bit. I’ve experienced this so many times in my life and undereating or fasting led to INJURIES. Now I catch myself and load up on protein and hydrate.

* TDEE wise, I really wanted a 2300-2500 calorie meal.

* I feel energized and well fed today. I think I’m going to refuel like this occasionally and just watch the sodium. I’m going to try it with chicken and more vegetables when I go back.

Don’t be afraid to eat if you work out, even if you’re trying to lose weight. ❤️ 💪🏻

  1. i’ve noticed days after i’ve eaten heavy cal load, i wake the next day looking/feeling smaller than the day before i ate big meal. idk what it is. but also, enjoy your recharge meal 🙂 diets aren’t meant to be 100% of the time, gotta have some fun and let go every once in a while. very glad you weren’t thinking abt calories and had a good meal!!! you deserve it

  2. This is the way, at an AYCE KBBQ place. Tip – if you want to reduce sodium, avoid the marinated meats.

  3. I recently had similar discoveries after eating hot pot with my family! Its a great way to fuel up.

  4. Just wanted to pop in and say look up female athlete triad. Underfueling and overexercising absolutely CAN lead to injuries. May not fit in exactly but it is good to make sure you are eating enough for your level of exercise!
