I took this from a recipe that had lean ground beef and potatoes with veggies. I swapped it with chicken and black beans. For 1 cup they had 128 cals. Here are the ingredients can someone help me estimate the calories for a cup of this soup with the changes. This is the stored amount. Thanks!
Ingredients for the total pot:

2 cans of organic black beans full circle brand 15 oz per can
Swanson beef broth 64 oz
Bag of frozen green beans Byrd’s eye steamer bag
1 medium yellow onion
1 pack of just bare chicken tenderloins 110 cals per 4 oz total pack has 4 servings baked and then shredded into the soup
4 tbsp of hunts tomato paste
1 29 oz can of hunts diced tomatoes

Is there a reason you can’t just put the ingredients into my fitness pal (or similar) to calculate the calories?
I would recommend putting it in a recipe creator in an app like loseit or my fitness pal. I do this with my own recipes, and usually weigh everything in grams. It will calculate the calories and nutrients for you. It can be tedious, but it really is the best way to accurately figure up the calories in recipes either online or your own. 🙂
I don’t know, but chop your carrots.
You’re going to need to know how many cups it made – you can probably use the servings in the recipe to estimate that. Then enter all your ingredients as a recipe into LoseIt or MyFitnessPal and put the number of cups it made as the number of servings. That will tell you how many calories each cup is.
I’ll estimate the calories for each ingredient and then provide a sum total. Please note that the values I provide are estimates and can vary based on the specific brand and preparation.
**Estimated Calories by Ingredient:**
1. **Baby carrots (Bolthouse Farms bag)**: ~35 calories (usually a standard bag has about 35 calories for the whole bag)
2. **Organic black beans (Full Circle brand, 15 oz per can)**: ~350 calories per can x 2 = 700 calories (assuming about 100 calories per half cup serving and about 7 servings per can)
3. **Swanson beef broth (64 oz)**: ~40 calories (usually around 10 calories per cup, and there are 8 cups in 64 oz)
4. **Frozen green beans (Byrd’s eye steamer bag)**: ~100 calories for a typical bag.
5. **1 medium yellow onion**: ~45 calories.
6. **Just Bare chicken tenderloins**: 110 calories x 4 servings = 440 calories (as provided).
7. **Hunts tomato paste (4 tbsp)**: ~100 calories (generally 25 calories per tbsp).
8. **Hunts diced tomatoes (29 oz can)**: ~150 calories for the entire can.
9. **Various spices**: Negligible calories.
**Total Estimated Calories**: 35 + 700 + 40 + 100 + 45 + 440 + 100 + 150 = **1,610 calories for the entire pot.**
To determine calories per cup, you’d need to know how many cups the entire pot yields. If, for instance, it yields 10 cups, then it would be roughly 161 calories per cup. Adjust accordingly based on the actual volume of the soup.
