sorry I’m very confused about how excercise calculates into total calories. I’ve been at around 1200-1500 but also excercing and I’m not only starving but also stalling (which happens when I don’t eat enough). Please help, I really enjoy excercing and am very bad at eating food. I don’t want to hurt myself

  1. I do random planks and push ups when I have a free time, more planks because I’m still working towards full push ups. Do those burn enough calories to be counted (30 second plants, probably 15ish a day? no more than 50 pushups a day)

When I walk on the treadmill at a fast ish pace for 45 minutes, I only lose about 200 calories so for some reason this seems off.

I should add I’m also 140 pounds so that might be why

  3. 1200-1500 is pretty low for your weight, you should calculate your TDEE and subtract 500 and stick with that, so that you aren’t starving but don’t need to add back exercise calories. Sustainable and not miserable wins the race!!

I don’t eat extra when I work out unless I feel sickly or weak, which is rare. It’s almost certainly overestimating anyway!

1500 is quite low for your weight, if you’re happy and feeling good, don’t worry about it. But you could eat more, and losing weight while eating as much as possible is awesome.

I’m not sure what’s happening here but all your responses are indicating a highly disordered way of eating and viewing CICO. Soreness after exercise ain’t an indication of effort – if you’re well conditioned, then even vigorous activity will not (and should not) result is DOMS.

Also, if you suspect you’re under eating, you should be dreading increasing your calorie intake.

Highly recommend you see a therapist and dietician to help you with all this.
