Tip – My sister does this and I’ve started doing it too. If you want something that’s high in carbs/fat/something you don’t want to over-consume, mix it into a salad. You still get bits of it here and there, but you don’t see how depressingly small the portion size is. My sister does this when she wants a couple french fries. I will also take a portion of tortellini and throw it into a big veggie salad.

You could just accidentally take the wrong plate maybe…

Psychological tricks help with stuff like this! If you put your salad on the plate next to your pasta and kielbasa instead of in the bowl it would look like a huge meal 😊 Also that all looks sooooo delicious. I’ve got a herniated disc right now so all I’ve eaten the past three days have been microwaveable Costco frozen broccoli with (also microwaveable) Bibigo chicken wontons, I’d kill for this right now

Dude, this is me and my bf. I plan for higher calorie days just to double up on tortellini. Started adding low calorie Alfredo on top too. Worth it.

God I couldn’t even handle having that little a portion! At that’s point I just wouldn’t have any and just stick with salad 😫
Maybe not the best advice but last night I cooked dinner for my partner and I, and I knew it would be a pasta dish I loved so I only at some blueberry’s throughout the day just so I could eat more pasta 🫠

I think a lower calorie meat choice would have let you have a bigger portion.

In case you’re interested, Priano sausage tortellini from Aldi only has 675 calories in the whole 20 ounce package. I usually get Palmini hearts of palm when I want pasta, but that particular tortellini is reasonably lite and has a decent amount of protein.

Is this regular kielbasa? Turkey kielbasa has a decent amount less calories, and imo, doesn’t taste very different since it’s so seasoned anyways.

They have more mass but you have the better nutrition!

Are you remembering to measure the pasta pre cooked? I love pasta, it’s one of the things I feel like I get a huge amount of pasta for the amount of calories it is.

Suddenly I remember why I never eat pasta.
