  1. I believe there is a rule that states all traditional Italian grandmother recipes are too be shared

  2. I make Italian meatballs and it’s likely something like this:

    1 lbs. ground veal
    2-3 crushed garlic cloves
    1/2 cup grated Parmesan
    1/2 cup bread crumbs
    2 eggs
    2-3 sprigs parsley chopped
    1/2 tablespoon salt

Add more breadcrumbs until it’s not overly sticky.

OP is not sharing the recipe because they are really frozen meatballs from Costco!

^(I do not really believe this, but maybe I can goad OP into sharing their recipe by accusing them of malfeasance. Here is to hoping!)

Every one of those is rolled identically… grandma’s recipe came with grandma’s standards.

Anna, keeper of ancient wisdoms, patron saint of comfort and food, beacon of hope in these dark and uncertain times, whose grace and generosity humble ass all, i beg of you:

bestow upon us your nonna’s love and wisdom. We simple peasants are lost in these trying times, and only her meatballs may heal our weary souls.

History may forget kings and empires, but it will remember who brought us the meatballs

  7. I am really confused by this dish.

Is your grandmother Italian, or Italian-American? One of my best friends is Italian and her mother would serve “Polpette” on their own and she explained that pasta with meatballs are generally not an Italian thing.

  8. Lidl has a meatball mix that is the trio of beef, veal, and pork which I use. One egg per pound of meat, Italian herb mix, salt pepper onion and garlic powder and then cooked rice instead of breadcrumbs. Have used dried out sourdough as well but I usually have rice on hand. U can also use oats if u give it a little blitz in the processor as I had a bunch of those I didn’t know what to do with so I made meatballs and loaves and I felt like I also got a dose of fiber for my troubles lol.

  9. honestly the beef+pork combo is way more affordable and tastes just as good. i batch make these on sundays and freeze half, saves so much money on weeknight dinners
