
Sichuan Mapo Tofu
I absolutely love this spicy recipe, it’s like crack where I can’t help but to keep going back for another spoonful despite the pain from the Ma-La. Ma-La is a both numbing and spicy sensation that comes from sichuan peppercorns.
It doesn’t look particularly impressive, but it’s one of my top favorite comfort foods.

Ingredients:
Ground Pork,
Garlic,
Ginger,
Green Onion,
Red Chili Pepper,
Sichuan peppercorns (do NOT use normal pepper),
Sriracha
Sauce:
Soy Sauce (chinese brands only),
Oyster Sauce,
Water,
Salt,
Starch
1. Boil Tofu separately, drain water when done, keep alittle water.
2. Cook sichuan peppercorns in oil on medium-low. Remove peppercorns before they turn black, toss peppercorns.
3. Add garlic, red pepper, green onion, ginger to oil. Cook briefly
4. Add tofu, ground pork, sauce, tofu water. Reduce.
5. Add Sriracha. Mix. Cook briefly.
6. Plate. Top with green onion. Serve with white rice.
