I’ve been trying to stay around 1200 calories a day but still get enough protein, and some days I feel like I can’t keep full no matter what I eat. I realized the quality of meat really makes a difference.

Has anyone found a meat delivery service that actually helps with meal prep, keeps things fresh, and makes meals more satisfying? Wondering what’s worked for people trying to stay on track without going over calories.

Update: I tried Good Chop and it’s been great. The meat stays fresh, tastes way better than store-bought, and actually keeps me full on my 1200-calorie days. Meal prep has gotten so much easier and more satisfying.

turkey and chicken breast cold cuts (i love mine from publix but any good quality is fine), egg whites are super underrated, if you’re willing to dabble, check out bengal grams/black (or brown) chickpeas are extremely filling and has amazing macros (salad accompaniment)

  3. I don’t know about a service, but in my experience you can find some options that are consistently high and readily available, such as tuna. I make tuna mayo over rice with a bunch of veggies and I find that very filling with good protein

I don’t know what you’re doing for breakfast but my standard is two scoops of ON protein powder (50g) plus cold brew and collagen powder (18g). It’s around 400-450c and very filling.

I know you’re looking for meat, but just a thought.

  5. Honestly I’d look into something like Trifecta or Factor, not just “meat boxes.” The pre-portioned meals with decent protein (25–30g+) tend to keep you way fuller than just cooking random cuts.

I just started ordering from a company called meal prep Sunday and they’re pretty high protein / low calorie and very filling / fresh compared to Factor. Cheaper too.

You didn’t mention what part of the word you live in. Options vary widely by location.

  8. meat delivery is fine but the fullness problem is usually protein distribution — aim for 25-35g protein per meal, not just hitting a daily total. shrimp, white fish and cottage cheese are the best bang for your calorie budget at 1200

Fullness is relative to high fiber not protein. Your meals should be 70% fiber and 30% protein.

Pro tip: Beans have both. Try some salads, chili, stews.
