Butter basted New York Strip topped with homemade chimichurri

Roasted Endive and Fennel salad(topped with fresh fennel, Castelvetranos, Wild ramps, goat cheese crumble and Vermont maple syrup)

I paired it with a Scarzello Langhe Nebbiolo

(The only thing I would have changed would be to add roasted pistachios and change the chev to a nuttier cheese)

My girl has the same opinion. Why would we go out if I’m the best cook in the city. The answer? I don’t always want to fuck with it. I don’t even mind the cooking. I don’t want to fuck with the dishes

The reasons I usually come up with are less work and fewer dishes. Looks solid m8, great job!

You probably eat out because your steak cooking skills are questionable, at best.

Looks delicious! That being said, it’s nice to go out so that everyone can get what they want individually (3 adults in my house).

  5. Cooking for 1 is more expensive than eating out unless you want to eat the same thing over and over again.

I think it looks delicious! Maybe a tad more color on that steak and I’d personally cover that salad with cracked black pepper

I’m a chef and been in food service 35+ years and NEVER COOK AT HOME because it’s just me and the last thing I wanna do when I get home is be in the kitchen

  8. I do just to get out of the house! But then I always leave disappointed because my husband makes better meals at home. Then I’m just mad I spent so much money haha

  9. You go out to eat in order to experience something new, or maybe something comforting; Not necessarily to outdo what you may accomplish on your own at home. If you want to go out and order that same dish you just cooked, then yeah, stay home?

  10. It’s nice to be served sometimes. At home, I’m the only cook and everybody expects restaurant menu and service (my fault, I’ve got them accustomed this way). The problem is, if I go out to eat, it’s never good (since the pandemic) – aaaand it’s frigging expensive.

Points to a pile of dishes out of frame. Also either having to fire up the grill or turn the kitchen and my vents into a greasy smokey mess cooking steak or burgers.

But yeah, steak is fairly easy to learn how to cook at home once you learn the basics, so I choose to go out for things that are a pain to cook or I don’t know how.

Even something as casual as fried chicken, I will let the restaurant deal with the fry oil.
