The weather is finally getting warmer in most of the US so let’s start with an easy wine & cheese pairing for sunny days: Creamy goat cheese & NZ Sauv Blanc

Why does it work? The bright acidity & citrus notes in the wine are strong enough to cut through the creamy, salty texture of the chèvre. This pairing also brings out the nutty, herbal flavors already found in the cheese.

Bonus – it can be totally affordable! Most NZ Sauv Blanc is under $20 in grocery retail and most 5oz goat cheese logs are $8-$12.

Wairau River Sauvignon Blanc ($15-$18 in most major grocery stores – Albertsons, Total Wine, Kroger, Publix, Costco, etc). Family owned and operated by The Rose Family from Marlborough, NZ. One of the first families to plant grapes in the Wairau River valley in the 1970s.
