Hello fellow cheese enthusiasts of Reddit! I need some help with a project I’m working on and I thought you all might be the right people to ask. Here’s the link from an old post of mine for anyone who’s interested in a little backstory on the project 🙂 https://www.reddit.com/r/neurodiversity/s/2Fbmhz2lOa
I’m making something out of wax casings from cheese, but the original idea of the project was that I’d solely use wax from Babybel cheese. The problem is that the project requires pieces of wax that are lighter colors: white, orange, green, and blue. I’ve tried dying and painting the red Babybel wax using various methods and it just isn’t working. Today I went to a few stores and found some cheese with white wax casings. This works perfectly, but omg will it be expensive 😅 there just isn’t that much wax on bigger pieces of cheese. Does anyone have any recommendations for cheese covered in light colored wax that won’t break the bank? The little white balls of wax in the attached pictures are what I need for my project.
What am I making, you ask? Help me find the light colored wax and I’ll be back with an update later on! 😄
