As an Indian, I found the spice level at Gordon Ramsay Street Burger surprisingly mild, and I think most Indians would feel the same. The burgers are well-made, but even the hottest dip on the menu barely reaches a 3/5 on the spice scale for someone used to Indian food. The heat also fades quickly instead of lingering, which makes the overall flavour feel less bold than expected.

That said, the burgers themselves are genuinely good. The patties are juicy and have flavour. Still, when it comes to spice and punchy taste, I’d personally choose burgers from Indian restaurants

One issue worth mentioning is consistency. The first time my boyfriend visited, he was served a burger that was burnt around the edges, and the burnt flavour was quite noticeable (3rd picture). Since it was his first experience, it was understandably disappointing. Interestingly, I ordered the same burger a few days later when I visited, and it was not burnt at all. This makes me feel there may be a consistency issue in the kitchen.

It’s a celebrity vanity fast-food chain, so the expectation should be pretty-bad food. Glad to hear it was good!

It is American/British food, so “spicy” and “punchy” are definitely not the central flavors here, particularly compared to most Indian food.

I very much prefer a burger with some burnt bits around the edges myself, but I can understand not liking that!

  2. The burnt flavor is on purpose. It’s a style of burger in America. I have had Gordon Ramsay’s burger in Las Vegas, and I was not at all impressed. They just tasted like salt.

  3. No way in hell would I trust him to make a burger that’s actually good.

Looks like a stacked too tall average pub burger.

  4. You don’t expect burgers to be spicy unless it’s a specific spicy variant but your average burger isn’t supposed to be spicy.

Even a second rate cook could make that mess. The mayonnaise should spread across the toasted bun to provide a hydrophobic layer to keep the bun nice and crispy and not haphazardly squirted all over the hamburger and falling off the side.

So they have a consistency issue and an ability to pay attention to aesthetic values.

The burger lacks any sort of sear.

The fact that it’s sitting on the paper is the only part of this that suggests it came from Gordon Ramsay’s restaurant. Aside from that I would call BS.
