As someone who used to buy a tin of cougar gold every 6 months for 4 years at Washington State University, the best dupe I’ve found is Old Croc extra sharp cheddar. This cheese has a similar sharpness, wetness, creaminess, firmness, and aged crystals as cougar gold. You can’t age this one as far as I know, but I always just ate my cougar gold right away. It’s not exact and not AS good, but it fills the cougar gold craving very well. As always #GoCougs

I love this one… I still order Cougar Gold every couple of years – it’s cheaper to have it shipped than it is to buy at the local stores, which when they have it charge $50-60…
