Picked up some Blue Valdeon from the Fresh Market yesterday (right side)

For reference, I love blue cheese. The funkier and saltier the better. Roquefort is incredible in that regard, but this stuff….

Hard pass. This stuff doesn’t even taste like blue cheese. Very acidic, quite a strong metallic taste, and overwhelmingly pungent in a not so welcoming way. The large crystals inside, after crunching thru them, left my mouth slightly numb.

Maybe just not my thing, but then I asked myself, who the hell would like this? It doesn’t even taste like blue cheese.
