"High Tea" is what the Savoy describe as an Afternoon Tea but with a hot dish added before the scones & cakes.

The sandwiches were described on their menu as:

  • Traditional Coronation Chicken | Macerated Raisins | Malbran Bread
  • Spiced St. Ewe Egg | Norfolk Cress | White Bread
  • Cucumber | Mint Ricotta | Spinach Bread
  • British Salt Beef | Pickle | Mustard Mayonnaise | Granary Bread

The 2 "savoury bites" were described on their menu as:

  • Scottish Smoked Salmon | Lemon and Dill Cream | Caviar | Brioche
  • Organic Baked Butternut Squash | Caramelised Figs | Savoury Tartlet

The hot dish was described as:

  • Gressingham Duck Breast | Heritage Beetroot | Blackberries | Plum | Red Wine Jus

The scones were a freshly-baked plain and a fruit scone (literally served warm straight out of the oven – so fluffy!), served with Cornish Clotted Cream, Strawberry Jam & Lemon Curd

The cakes/pastries were described as:

  • Blue Lady Earl Grey and Blackberry: Earl Grey Tea Cake | Blackberry Chantilly | Blackberry and Blueberry Compote
  • Apple & Custard: Bramley Apple Compote | Tahitian Vanilla Crème Brûlée | Shortbread
  • Chocolate and Hazelnut: Guanaja Chocolate Cake | Piedmont Hazelnuts | Caramel and Chocolate Ganache
  • Jasmine & Redcurrant: Jasmine and Bourbon Vanilla Mousse | Almond Sponge | Redcurrant Gel

You get unlimited free refills of whichever bits of the first sandwich & savoury bites course as you'd like, for example they were more than happy to give me more of those butternut squash & caramelised fig tartlets which were sooo delicious! They also let you mix and match between the vegetarian and vegan sandwich choices if you'd like too.

And of course you get unlimited tea included, they have a nice selection (Although disappointingly no Lapsang Souchang 😭)

The experience is so wonderful as well, extremely chill, with a live piano player tinkling the ivories in the background.
