I just realized I ate about 7,000 mg of sodium in total, and I’m honestly freaking out a bit. I’ve never had that much before, so I have no idea how it’s going to affect my body. What’s crazy is that the soup didn’t even taste salty 😭 I got it from pick up stixs so consider this a warning to anyone else who might think about getting it.

Believe it or not. Jail
Mmmm good soup. Maybe just try to drink extra water for the rest of the day, and maybe the next one. Probably fine as long as it’s infrequent
Wonton soup base is chicken broth and soy sauce, both of which tend to be salty. Soups are always going to be higher in sodium because you have to salt water to make it not taste like water. On soup days, increase your water intake.
it doesn’t matter. Go for a brisk walk, and keep extra hydrated for the day.
You will be fine. Drink some extra water and don’t do it too often. Worst case scenario probably is that you might see some temporary extremity swelling.
If you want actual numbers, one study I found was 10g for a child and 25g of sodium for an adult can kill people.
For an adult that’s like 4x more than you ate. And it’s partially dependent on previous sodium intake, like your blood sodium would already be higher before the dose if you always eat high sodium.

It’s just sodium lol idk why you’re freaking out
Go tell the POTS crew lol they’ll herald you as their new king/queen
You’re gonna pee/poop/sweat out the excess within a day. Sodium has a fun property of sucking in water from the rest of your body to dilute itself, which means temporarily higher blood pressure when it’s in your blood, but also an explosive solution to the problem once it gets into your intestines.
