Do it! I enrolled and am starting in August. People will try to tell you it’s not worth it but you get what you put in, yanno? Take that leap

That’s entirely up to you. I will say that looks damn good so if you want to make it a career, than go for it full headed and full hearted. Just stick with it, keep at it and never forget, you can do it.

    Have you researched the salary?

Do you know how many hours are typical for the job?

Is it possible for you to do an ‘internship’ of sorts (i.e., get a job in a food joint and help out in the kitchen)?

If you’ve done your homework and are still interested in it as a career, then do it.

I have heard that chefs get burnt out from the stress, that the hours are not good if you want to have a social life, and that the pay is not good.

    Yes yes yes

I did this at the age of 25. I went to cooking school for a year and while I determine that hospitality was not the industry for me, I learned so much and am happy I took the time to go and study.

The skills you learn in cooking school you will use everyday for the rest of your life, whether you go into the industry or not.

Yes, go so you can learn what actually goes together and how to plate esthetically. This is a disaster, but that’s what we go to school for! Don’t be discouraged if its your passion you will love it and improve.
