  1. You can make a nice soup too. I just use bouillon a tiny sprinkle of ground ginger and teeny splash of soy sauce. Very good with carrots and scallions

If you have an Asian grocery near you, you’d be amazed at the variety of frozen dumplings you can find, most with a similar calorie profile. It makes it easy to change things up so you’re not getting bored of the same flavor, bag after bag.

For an alternative dumpling sauce, try mixing soy sauce, rice vinegar, red pepper flakes, and minced green onion, to taste. It’ll cut the sugar and add a kick. I don’t ever use the prepared sauces.

Dumplings are usually WILDLY low calorie – for some reason you expect them to be 5x what they actually are. Veg gyoza and ginger prawn are my jams and they are SO low cal, especially if steamed.

I looooove dumplings like these. I like to throw them in a pot of boiling water and let the, boil until the dough gets a bit translucent and they’re floating (Saves some calories you would use for the oil when frying). Strain, serve with a tablespoon of sweet chili sauce, chopped cucumber and spring onion. Yum!

  6. Good frozen dumplings have been my biggest surprise. The easiest meal that feels like I’m eating way more calories than I am.
