Hey guys, maybe a stupid question but currently freaking out that i might have eaten by accident double the calories i was intending to take. How to count calories on this pasta box? Is this the nutritional value for the uncooked or cooked pasta? If it’s for cooked i messed up big time. Thanks for answering !

Do you have a food scale? Weigh it. 85g is referring to it dry, before you boil it.

You can also just multiply 300 by 5 and get the total for the box then figure out the how much you ate and go from there to determine.

  3. Whole box is about 1500 so you can see how much of the box you used and get the cals

Divide the calories by the grams it’s estimated by
    300 ÷ 85 = 3.5
    So 1 piece is 3.5
    3.5 × 410 =1435 (Full box)

  5. Everyone’s comments here are great, but my own personal trick if you’re ever stuck with calculations is ChatGPT! I use it for everything.

An example prompt for this box would be: “If 85g of pasta = 300kcal, and there are 410g in the box, how many kcals are in the box total?”

If you get the Pro version, you can upload pictures and files. I just upload pictures of boxes & containers so it can see the nutrition facts and ask away.

  6. This is what I do. I have the cronometer app, and I select “new recipe”. I usually cook entire box at a time. I weigh the dry food, and when it’s done cooking I add the “cooked weight”, so now when I eat multiple servings after it’s cooked, I can add my custom noodle recipe with the new cooked weight.

    Hope that makes sense?

anytime something is uncooked whether it be pasta, meats, etc — the weight is ALWAYS the uncooked amount unless specified

Nutrition values are always always as is, unless specified.

So yes, this is 85g dry
