Hear me out… this is a southern thing, I swear 😭Kool-Aid pickles w/zero sugar Kool-Aid
I used to get these from Walmart all the time when they were called Tropickles. I bought them after hearing an NPR podcast about them 😭This got me to start liking pickles. I’m estimating 5 calories per pickles.
Never tried them, but the kids at a school I used to work at LOVED them!

The next level would be pickled koolaid sausages

I’ve lived in the south my whole life and I’ve never seen this! Is this like a niche one state/region kind of thing?

Hold on….is this a literal dill pickle mixed in with kool aid?? I am intrigued and also terrified. Lol.

Definitely a thing but I’ve never been brave enough to try em lolol

Love these lol. Sometimes when I’m feeling like a real freak, I’ll sprinkle some tajin on them. And if I’m feeling even freakier, I’ll wrap a fruit roll up around them

I’ve lived in two southern states all my life and have never heard of this. Wish I hadn’t!

I’m here in Arkansas and kool aid pickles are HUGE at farmers markets. I don’t like them but lots of people do.

can confirm it is a southern thing

Reminds me of the chamoy pickle trend with the sour candy, fruit roll ups, tajin, and other nasty stuff wrapped around a pickle

I can almost get behind this but all the dyes hold me back 😔

Hold on a whole lot of seconds! Explain yourself! Is it a pickle put in a jar of Kool-Aid? Or cucumber put in a jar of Kool-Aid? Or some sort of Kool-Aid pickling process? We need specifics.

Are you anywhere near south Texas by any chance? I was explaining to my husband yesterday how I was craving a tropical punch snow cone with pickles on top (that is huge down there) and he legitimately thinks I’m crazy, and disgusting lol

I first tried these at a burger joint in Montreal. Super good but could only eat like half of one.

This is one of those times where realize things you thought were completely normal aren’t normal at all. Where I’m from we put pickles in our snow cones too.

The extra sour flavors like the lemonade and blue lemonade are so good!

I’m super intrigued! What’s the flavor like? Is it just extra sour or is there sweetness too?? I’m so confused on how it will taste

I’m trying to be open minded but I’m feeling nauseated just thinking of the taste. So they’re super fruity, salty, and with that artificial sweetener taste? Ugh this is so upsetting 😝

I love koolickles! From the upper midwest but I love southern food. I was just thinking of them the other day, but remembered how much sugar I used to put in there. Didn’t think to do sugar-free. I might try that! It’s a fun summer snack. If anyone wants to try them, you can’t go wrong with cherry.

You might want to check how much salt you consume if you’re not doing a lot of aerobic exercise.

Yeah, but have you tried it with cauliflower rice?

Pickles in general confuse most north of us. Pickles snowcones, fried pickles, pickles at the movie theaters and koolaid pickles. I love pickles!
