I’m visiting Adelaide in South Australia for a celebratory weekend, I’m walking through the local market and finding all of these amazing cheeses. So I thought I’d share this adventure with you.
I bought a few local cheeses on special, 500gm of wax sealed, shale point creamy cheddar for $15, 100gm of onkaparinga reserve blue for $7 (it’s a red blue cheese). $300gm of Tasmanian Gruyere for $15, some halva, onion relish and crackers to serve it all with. I’m excited to try that red blue cheese.
I’ve included a few other photos of cheeses that bought my interest.
All prices are in AUD. The minimum wage here is $23.23 AUD an hour ($15.43 USD), the Big Mac index is $4.63 (it’s $5.15 in the US).
I grew up in Tasmania and always get excited when I see cheeses from there. I now live in Sydney and assume I can find all of the interesting international cheeses when I’m back at home.
