Sweeteners like Splenda are made to be very sweet so you’re only using a fraction of it to get the “same” taste. But if you want brown sugar, you need to mix the powder with molasse and only having Splenda would make it way too sweet, so they use a blend of real sugar, Splenda and then expect you to use less of it.

That’s why I buy the Truvia Sweet Complete brown sugar now, and avoid the blends.

Doesn’t matter because this is easily the worst product in the Splenda lineup. It’s terrible tasting.

I am confusion
Because real sugar is the first ingredient? I don’t understand what they mean by half the calories and sugar. Is a tsp of sugar usually 30?
According to their website their blend is twice as sweet so you use half as much, a little misleading I think but that’s their thought process.
“The sweetness of Splenda Brown Sugar Blend is 2:1 with brown sugar. Use half the brown sugar in your recipes!”
