PSA : there are two Le voltaire restaurants. I think the one you went to is quai Voltaire not too far from the musée d’Orsay.
There is another one in the 11th arrondissement that offers ok food but really nothing special. But it’s a good place if you want to drink late since it closes at 2 am.

As a french guy, I find Escargot always disapointing in restaurants, because you can have almost exactly the same taste if you buy them at the supermarket for 4€ or something.
If you are still in France, you should try it. Go to Picard, buy a box of 12, 10min in the oven and you’re good to go.
