Aşeka Karaköy sits in the center of Karaköy’s newer dining scene, with a style that leans contemporary European rather than strictly Turkish.
Chef Onur Ünsal runs a kitchen that sits in the awkward spot between urban bistro and lower-key Michelin starred restaurants. “Classy” dishes mixed with EDM and unkempt uniforms make for a unique experience in Istanbul.
The price was around 6500 TL per person, or 145 USD.

Overall, our party was moderately pleased with the experience. Several dishes came out oily/greasy, and the service was unenthusiastic but quick.
The desserts and baked beetroot were delicious. The lamb was tender and cooked perfectly.
Meeting Chef Ünsal was a small highlight, as he had some insightful things to say about the restaurant’s history and philosophy.
