Was the dish ratatouille named after someone, or did it emerge on its own? I doubt that this dish just appeared out of nowhere

I followed exactly as described by fallow’s YouTube video, with one exception using chicken broth instead of chicken stock. Nevertheless they came out fantastic. by spicemelangeflow Food
