

This was literally as perfect as a Cuban can be. Homemade roast pork and ham, great pickle tangy mustard and the best Cuban roll I've ever had.
Legitimately wish I hadn't eaten it because I have 4 more days in Miami and the restaurant is in walking distance.

If you have the chance, go to La Segunda in Tampa. Tampa Cubanos are slightly different from the Miami ones since they add salami to them over there, but it adds that much more flavor to it.

Conversely, the most disappointing meal I’ve had was a sandwich in Cuba proper a decade ago. Had traveled from Europe with others (corporate getaway), was hungry and dead tired and were told we’d be served sandwiches at the hotel. I expected something like this, and ended up getting plain white sliced bread, tasteless cheese and the cheapest sliced, plain ham. Huge disappointment.

My go to is El palacios de los jugos in Miami. Ever since Anythony Bourdain went here we couldn’t stop visiting when going to Miami for Vacation it’s a must stop for the Cuban sandwich
