First time making deep fried tendies

    They look good. I’ve been making this pretty consistent over the last year. Here are some things I do:

    I cut my chicken thinner. You can cut it or pound it, but I prefer to not have to bite through such a chunk of meat. I’ve also experimented with cutting additional “fingers” on them. Similar to how Popeyes does it.

    I put franks hot sauce in with buttermilk. And then I use the same butter milk in the 2nd coat.

    Like I said previously, I do two coats of breading.

    For the breading, I mainly use flour, but I also make it about 1/3rd corn starch. And I add baking powder. Obviously salt and any spices you like.

    My preferred dipping sauce is honey mustard. I make mine 1 part honey, 1 part mustard, 2 parts mayo, and paprika and lemon juice to taste.
