  1. So I just googled what this is exactly, could you describe the flavors? Share your recipe if you’re willing? Please?!

This on a Brötchen with a sweet mustard or just with eggs, Boiler potatos and spinach

  3. For anyone Wandering Leberkäse is basically a Big baked sausage loaf, usually pork but veal and Turkey (dont) are available.

Despite being named Leberkäse it will usually contain neither liver nor cheese. Leberkäse containing cheese is however a common sight in Bavaria (Kasleberkas eg., variants Like Pizzaleberkas also exist).

Outside of Bavaria (in Germany) it will be referred to as “bayrischer Leberkäse” or Fleischkäse BC of consumer protection laws.

  4. I am sad there is no place in my town anymore where I can get a nice bread roll with leberkäs smothered in caramelized onions.

  5. My wife and I really enjoyed all the meat loaf style things we tried in Germany. One of the best things we had was Head Cheese in Riesling Aspic in Koblenz by the river. It was a brave first for us, but we were both glad to try!

My wife typically does not care for things such as bologna, pate, etc.

  6. Not my favorite, but a thick slice of this on a brötchen with some sharp mustard is a hangover MIRACLE.

  7. How similar is this to meatloaf, cause it looks very similar, just without the onions and glaze on top.

  8. Fear not fellow Americans! I u/mcmain4 have disassembled the silly European mind and have the perfect explanation for you!

    >!Its just fancy Spam.!<

    Not sure what that is.

However, I have heard the words meat and cheese. Give me some bread to hold it and lets go.

  10. I used to eat that as a kid while I was still living in Switzerland, reminds me so much of my late father.

I gotta find an authentic recipe and make myself one.
